Traditional Chocolate Chip Cookies

What’s better than a cold glass of milk and traditional chocolate chip cookies?  Okay, there’s a lot that’s better than that but sometimes it just hits the spot!

I was really hungry for a yummy but simple cookie last week, so I made these.  Most recipes I make are with everyday ingredients that you may have in your pantry or refrigerator on a regular basis.

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) Butter
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips (semi-sweet or your preference)
  • (optional & omit these for those with nut allergies) – 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Combine flour, baking soda & salt. Set aside.
  3. Combine butter, sugars, vanilla extract and eggs.  Beat until creamy.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to that, mixing well.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if you chose to add them).
  6. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.

This will make about 5 dozen cookies.  (or less if you make the cookies larger…or devour some of the dough along the way! 😉 )

  1. YUM!!!! These look incredible!

  2. YUM! I don’t know much of anything that’s better than a cookie and a huge glass of milk by foodie sista! I rarely make homemade cookies (I’m a fridge dough kinda gal) but next time I get a hankering for homemade…I’ll try this recipe!
