Spicy BBQ Onion Ring Bacon Cheeseburger

It’s officially summer!  What does that mean to you?  For me, it means swimming, lots of family get togethers, cookouts, fireworks, ice cream, grilling and my birthday!  I am just one day shy of being a 4th of July baby! Just because I was born the day after, doesn’t mean my family barbecues in the summer aren’t one big explosion of family, friends, food and good times!

Thanks to my recent trip to one of the local Price Chopper’s, I was able to put on quite the spread for my family to enjoy.  I love hamburgers or cheeseburgers, especially those made with certified angus beef.  With bread, without bread, dressed, kept simple or in this case – the works!! I think this particular burger quickly became one of my favorites and will definitely be making many repeat  visits into my family’s summer meal plan.  It is literally a summer food party in your mouth.  Your belly will thank you.

I knew exactly what kind of burger I wanted to make.  I love lettuce, tomato and red onion on just about any burger I eat.  But I wanted to jazz up this one.  In addition to those toppings, I wanted to add BBQ sauce, bacon, cheese and onion rings – yup, onion rings.  Are you salvating yet?  I know I was as  I pushed the cart through each aisle!   I was really excited that I found premade patties with bacon and cheddar cheese IN them.  I. KNOW.  Yum.

I love just about any traditional picnic food and fresh produce during the summer.  That’s why I chose corn on the cob to go with my burgers. It was the perfect side and such a delicious compliment to the main dish.

I washed all of those taste bud satisfying foods down with a perfectly flavored and cold Gatorade.  Fruit Punch is one of my favorite flavors, but you could most definitely pair it with any flavor you enjoy.

Before I share the easy steps to create this delicious meal any carnivore would love to sink their teeth into, check out the available meat choices at your local Price Chopper.  Fresh, ready and waiting for you to throw on your grill at home.
