Sloppy Pulled Chicken

Sloppy Pulled Chicken

I love chicken and am always looking for or thinking of new recipes to kind of mix it up a little.  There’s honestly about a million different recipes out there.  This time around I had a little inspiration from Mrs. Dash (but let my slow cooker do the work)!  This is a great alternative to pork and a nice change to a dish made with ground beef.

This is perfect to have in the slow cooker after a day being outside raking leaves or just hanging out at home watching football!

  • 4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 TBSP canola oil
  • 1 package sloppy joe seasoning (powdered mix in envelope)
  • 1 TBSP apple cider vinegar
  • 1 TBSP brown sugar (I consider this optional as some don’t like it sweet.  I omitted it when I made mine.)

  1. Mix all ingredients together, except chicken.
  2. Place chicken in slow cooker and pour mixture over the chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on high for about 4 hours.
  4. Using 2 forks, shred the chicken breasts & return to the slow cooker.
  5. Serve on toasted rolls, soft tortillas, bread or even put it on top of a tossed salad.
  6. Enjoy!! 🙂

Tip: You could honestly do this with any seasoning for your chicken and shred just the same.  Have fun with it!
