Hear Ye, Hear Ye! I’m Headed Back to LA For Disney’s Live Action Cinderella Red Carpet Premiere #CinderellaEvent

(This post may contain affiliate links. Read my full disclosure.)

Disclosure: I’ve been invited on an all expense paid Disney press trip in exchange for my honest coverage of the upcoming #CinderellaEvent press junket and red carpet premiere.  All opinions are my own.

“A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, When You’re Fast Asleep.” – Disney’s Cinderella

Once upon a time, on the East coast of the United States in little ol’ Athens, Pennsylvania, a 31 year old married mommy blogger of two (we’ll call her Jenn), laid down to take a nap.  #truestory…a mom taking a nap! But wait! That’s not even the fairy tale part, believe it or not.

Cinderella Rags

After she woke up, still groggy from her headache induced slumber, she reached for her beloved phone to feed her addiction of social media and email.  Scrolling through her unruly inbox with one eye open and the other half of her face still buried in the pillow, she came upon an email invitation from Sir Weinbaum, asking her to attend Disney’s live action Cinderella red carpet movie premiere.

You see, it’d only been sent to 25 of the blogosphere’s finest.  That tells you how important and exciting this was!

Thinking she was still dreaming, she skimmed the email a few more times, read it thoroughly to not miss any important details and then dialed up her Prince Charming.  He was only downstairs in the living room, tending to the children.  (He even takes out the trash and puts the seat down!) Do you see how he got his royal title?

Cinderella Ball

After squealing into the phone and perhaps busting the Prince’s eardrum (don’t worry, he has another one), Jenn called her fairy godmother-in-law to secure childcare.  While Prince Charming would be working during the glam ball and red carpet premiere, the littles would need adult supervision.

With all of those details squared away, the RSVP sent back and the suitcase ready to be packed, the hunt is now on for a beautiful dress!

Follow along with me (2/28-3/2) on this #CinderellaEvent fairytale adventure as I travel to LA to stay in the castle, aka Loews Hollywood Hotel! While I am there, myself along with 24 other beautiful maidens, will be interviewing the cast and crew of the live action Cinderella.  We will also attend a glam ball where JC Penney’s will help us look our most glamourous by doing our hair, make-up and accessories.  Then we will attend the Cinderella red carpet premiere at the El Capitan Theatre!

The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother
(Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.” She will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her. And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an apprentice at the Palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit (Richard Madden). Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand, and a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and – armed with a pumpkin and a few mice – changes Cinderella’s life forever.
