Green Bean Casserole

The holidays are quickly approaching and that’s when a lot of traditional foods and dishes are served.  One of the most popular seems to be the green bean casserole.  It’s been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember.

Sometimes it’s nice to change things up a little though.  I didn’t want to alter the taste too much, so I thought, how can I keep the flavor everyone loves while adding a fun twist to a family favorite? Then a light bulb went off.  Bacon and Cheese.  Seriously, who doesn’t love those two things?!

Bacon and Cheese Green Bean Casserole?  Yes, please!!

I had my ingredients in mind and set out to shop at my local Walmart.  I knew I could find everything there!  You will need the following:

Prep instructions:

  1. Stir the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, beans and 2/3 cup onions in a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
  2. Bake at 350°F. for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining onions, cheese and bacon.
  3. Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.

Enjoy with your family! What twist would you put on this traditional casserole?
