If you’re like many Americans, you or someone you know may have experienced depression.  I will openly say that I am someone who still faces depression.  At times, more often than I’d like.  That’s a huge reason why I was so relieved to come across the Moodivator App.

Millions of people in the United States suffer from depression, with an estimated one in 15 adults (6.7%) experiencing at least one major depressive episode in any given year. Struggling with depression can feel overwhelming, isolating and affect all areas of a person’s life. Treatment for depression often includes a number of approaches such as talk therapy, medication, peer support, and a personal wellness plan – however, it may be challenging for some patients to adhere to their treatment.

Depression can be such a taboo topic, when really, it should not be.  The Moodivator App is great because it can get people talking about something that is much more common than some might realize.  If nothing else, it may be successful in the ways it’s meant to be.

When I tested the app out, I was impressed with the fact that I could set goals and reminders, as well as logging my mood.  When life gets busy, it can be too easy to forget to take a dose of medicine, or even miss an appointment.  With the Moodivator App, reminders and alerts are your friend, so to speak.

I think it’s very helpful to be able to log your mood(s).  How often have we all gone back to any type of doctor visit, only to forget how we’ve felt or at least forgotten to mention all of the symptoms we’ve experienced.  When your mind is not what it used to be due to changes in mood, logging those moods is beneficial to your future health plan.

Even during one’s lowest or bluest days, it can be nice to see something positive. The Moodivator App allows you to set goals and reminders to get out of the house more often or set aside ‘me time’, proving to be helpful and a positive tool for your life.
