I remember so many wonderful holiday traditions from when I was a little girl.  The food, family, church on Christmas Eve, gifts (c’mon, what “kid” wouldn’t say that?!) and even the holiday movies on TV.

One thing we’d always do upon returning home from Christmas Eve service, was to have punch, snacks and listen to music before going to bed so that Santa could come!

Of course, back then we had to go to the mall to get certain foods that we couldn’t get at the regular grocery store.  One of the specialty stores in the mall was Hickory Farms.  Do you remember going there as a child, or even as an adult, and smelling the meat cooking?  They’d give you samples and usually we’d end up walking out with a delicious purchase to eat during holiday gatherings. I honestly remember it like it was yesterday.  That and other very special holiday traditions and memories are in my head and heart now.

That doesn’t mean you or I can’t enjoy Hickory Farms with our families though! What will you pick up for your family’s holiday traditions?
